Kentucky two-vehicle collision kills two

Two men lost their lives after a two-vehicle collision on Kentucky Route 11 near Sherburne on Saturday, July 30. The accident happened around 3:30 a.m and was a head-on collision.

The victims were identified as 23-year-old Owingsville resident Shane Day and 40-year-old Carlisle resident Robin Willoughby. The Fleming County Coroner declared them both dead at the scene of the accident. A passenger in Willoughby’s vehicle, identified as 28-year-old Paris resident Phylicia Peterson was transported to the UK Hospital, which is based on the campus of the University of Kentucky in Lexington. She received immediate treatment for her non-life-threatening injuries. Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
