According to the Mayor’s Office, Lexington, Kentucky’s emergency management division director Pat Dugger was hurt in a two-vehicle collision that occurred at around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8 at the intersection of North Upper and West Fourth streets.
The police investigation showed that Dugger was inside her standard-issued government vehicle and was headed west on Fourth Street when she was hit by a sport utility vehicle that was heading south on Upper Street and was driven by a yet to be identified driver.
The impact of the crash caused Dugger’s vehicle to overturn, trapping her underneath. Firefighters had to lift her vehicle and extricate her to save her life.
