An investigation is ongoing of a fatal pedestrian accident that killed three people, including a grandfather and his two baby grandchildren, WAVE 3 News reported on March 15.
Twins Sean and Samantha May, as well as 52-year-old Charles Napier were killed when a Chevrolet Malibu driven by 22-year-old Jessica Hood hit them at the corner of Weaver Rd. and Tamarack Circle in North Kentucky at 12:40 p.m.
Brittany Ballard, a witness to the incident, tried performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the babies along with another bystander. Susan Elam and the twin’s brother Ethan May were both injured in the accident and transported to separate hospitals.
Around 112 vehicular accidents have taken place along that particular stretch of Weaver Road, Kentucky transportation Cabinet member Nancy Wood said. However, this recent accident is the first that resulted in fatalities.
Police are attempting to determine what Hood was doing in her vehicle at the time of the crash, such as texting or otherwise using her phone.
