Recently, Tim Wilson, managing partner at Wilson & McQueen, PLLC, had two significant appeals victories. The first involved an appeals decision that upheld Wilson’s client’s right to workers’ compensation benefits after suffering from the effects of second-hand cigarette smoke. This is one of the first, if not the first, successful case of its kind in Kentucky.
The second decision involved the workers’ compensation board upholding the decision made by an Administrative Law Judge to award $182,000 to an injured worker’s ex-stepfather for caregiver services. It is believed that this is the largest award of its kind in the state of Kentucky.
