The Woodford County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 53-year-old Woodford County resident James Couch.
According to preliminary investigations, a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee was turning eastbound on U.S. Route 60, or Versailles Road, from Bluegrass Parkway when it collided with a red GMC pickup truck, driven by Couch, that was headed west.
The driver of the Jeep Cherokee was brought to UK HealthCare in the University of Kentucky in Lexington to receive treatment for his injuries of an unknown nature.
The westbound lanes and one eastbound lane of U.S. Route 60 were closed from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to give way to police officers and emergency medical responders who were securing and clearing the area. Westbound traffic was diverted to Bluegrass Parkway.
