Head-On Collision in Pine Knot Kills Two
A head-on collision in Pine Knot, Kentucky between a sport utility vehicle and a car resulted in the deaths of two individuals, WVLT reported on October 8.
The crash occurred along U.S. Route 27, at the intersection of Job Corp Hill Road. According to preliminary investigations conducted by the Kentucky State Police, 29-year-old Shea Coffey was driving an SUV when it crossed the median and hit a vehicle operated by 68-year-old Palace Anderson, who died at the scene of the accident. His passenger, identified as 47-year-old Samuel Anderson, his son, was airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he later succumbed to his mortal injuries.
Details surrounding the incident, such as the factors contributing to Coffey’s loss of control, were not released at the time of the article. Troopers did report that none of the three were wearing seat belts at the time.
