Lexington Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident
Seventy-one-year-old Lexington, Kentucky resident Randolph Scott died from his mortal injuries sustained in an accident he had when the motorcycle he was driving in Laurel County last Wednesday, May 7 was hit by a car whose female driver abandoned the vehicle after the collision to flee into the nearby woods.
Scott was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital following the incident, and later died of multiple blunt trauma injuries, the Fayette County coroner said.
According to preliminary investigations made by the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, Scott was on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and was heading north on U.S. Route 25 on the outskirts of London at around 6:00 p.m. when a Dodge Neon came into his lane from Hazel Patch Road.
The two vehicles collided, causing Scott to be thrown off his bike.
