The Kentucky State Police trooper – whose identity has yet to be revealed publicly – who was assigned to the Elizabethtown post when he was hit by a car on Interstate 65 in Bullitt County on Saturday, August 30 is now in stable condition, The Courier-Journal reported.

According to state police spokesman Jeff Gregory, the incident happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 at the 102 mile marker. The northbound lanes of I-65 were temporarily closed to traffic at the Joe Prather Highway, and traffic was rerouted to U.S. Route 31W.
